Buy vs. Rent

If you have never skied before and would like to experience this amazing sport for the first time, renting is a good option.

For everyone else - Buy your own equipment!  Here’s why…

  • Better equipment - Rental skis are typically inferior general purpose skis.  Quality brand name equipment that you buy is made to perform to your expectations.
  • Customization - Skis that you buy will be fitted to you based on height, weight, experience, skiing style, and your preferred slopes.  You will also have the comfort of knowing that your skis are well maintained, sharp, and appropriately waxed.
  • Control - You can get to know your own skis and how they will handle in different conditions.  Your skiing experience will be greatly enhanced with the stability, control, and consistent performance of your own skis.
  • Safety - Not knowing your equipment means less control.  Less control means you are at higher risk.  In addition, inferior skis can yield unexpected results.
  • Comfort - Buy skis, boots, and poles that fit.  When you’re traversing the mountain in below freezing temperatures for the entire day, comfort becomes a pretty high priority.
  • Style - Do we need to say more?
